So...What Did Mark Do....While Jackie Was Away?

He worked!

Mark easily works 10-14 hour days...and with me away to the US he had a lot more time to work late and not feel bad.

But....a huge event was taking place in Warsaw at the same time...the 2012 Euro Cup!
Though Mark did not have a ticket to any of the games in the new Stadion Nardowy (National Stadium) in Warsaw, he did have a good view of the "Fan Zone" from the office windows.  Here is one of the entrances to the Fan Zone, built to accommodate 100,000 fans showing the football (soccer) games on several different screens.
Mark got into the Polish spirit...by wearing a jersey with the national colors of red and white!
Poland was in the games at the beginning...and the crowds in the fan zones were enormous
Mark went to the fan zone with some co-workers...the crowds to cheer on Poland were excited!
Inside the Fan Zone were many concession booths, and even a temporary McDonalds built just for this event.  No doors - just a roof overhead.

Hundreds of porta-potties.

Below, crowds are queueing (lining up) to get into the Fan Zone...the fan zones were actually on 3 sides of the Cultural Palace.
Polish fans cheering...

During the Euro Cup, Mark purchased a Polska scarf.  These scarves are carried by as many as half the fans in the stadiums.  Fans from all the countries had scarves for their own teams. After Poland was eliminated from the tournament, Mark used magnets to hang the scarf at the top of the whiteboard in his office.

Last but not least while Jackie was gone....Mark took very good care of the flowers on our porches while I was gone....I came home to colorful flowers...and they looked better than when I left.
