We have a Car!

Here is our little Skoda....we drove it to church today!
It easily fits in our garage...Mark says we would have room for 3 of these Skodas in our garage!

We used to have a red Horizon...our children will remember it well...this car is smaller than the Horizon.
We bought this car from the Church. It was driven by the wives of the past two Poland mission presidents....it is in good condition! We were planning on getting it prior to our trip to Hawaii but did not get it until this past week.

The car has low mileage, is automatic and will get us around in the winter. Tomorrow we take a defensive driving class and then drive for an hour on the streets of Poland on Thursday. Driving on the streets with an instructor makes me nervous...but I won't think about it until Thursday.
For now, we back our car into our garage...thinking once the winter days set in (so far no accumulation of ice and snow... :) ) it will be easier for us to exit. Our driveway slants down so it could be
tricky on icy days as well.

We have been told that we will appreciate having a car in the winter, but we have also been told that so many people in Poland drive too fast and crazy in the winter! I'm thinking I will use my Metro pass for Metro, bus and tram quite a bit still.
So the Picketts in Poland now have a little blue European car...we hope it will serve us well during our time here in Poland.
