Last days at 3223 Autumn Bridge Ln

I'm into my last week and last days of living in our home for the past 15 years. Selling our home...preparing to sell... and to pack and move have been exciting and exhausting days. It has only been within the last week that I have been more reflective.... grateful for the memories, family and friend connections, and the growing up we have experienced while living here.

We moved to our home almost 15 years ago...Jamie was getting home from scout camp during the summer at 11 years, and Melissa was 13 years old...a brand new teenager. Now Melissa lives in the Washington D.C. area and Jamie is married to Caroline and lives and works in Houston.

We have been blessed in countless ways during this process...I have a grateful heart and know we are being watched over as we move towards our "together move to Poland". Thank you to all who have visited our home in any way...we have loved you and cherish the time we have shared while living here.

Our Home in Poland

Success! We found a home! The picture above is our backyard and the picture below is the front of our home. This is a duplex and we will be living on the right side (facing the house).

Mark moved in after 3 weeks living in a hotel...he only had a 3-5 minute walk to his office. Now he walks to a metro stop, rides the metro and walks again...taking about 30 minutes to get to work...not bad....and w/o dealing with any Houston traffic.

Our backyard sans snow....I look forward to adding color sprinkled throughout the yard. Our landlord said I could plant flowers!

Here I am after we decided this will be our home...there are 4 levels...with lots of stairs! We have guest rooms and we will love having guests anytime!...so come!

This is our address..... Ul. Cisawa 9A (Ul= street)! I can hardly belive Mark and I will both be here in just a little over a month. Mark came home for 2 weeks...and has since returned to Poland and our home. May will bring packing up, moving out, finishing my 20+ years of teaching and saying good byes...

Our Move to Poland begins...

Mark and I celebrated our 30th anniversary in June 2010...little did we know the adventure that would soon be ours...3 months later.

Our adventure...moving to Poland began last fall...September 2010 when Mark was asked to become Marathon Oil's F&A manager in the new Poland office.

Our plan...Mark begins work in Warsaw in Feb. 2011 check

I travel to Poland for an advance trip and check

hopefully find a home.

I return to Houston, pack and sell our home, in the process

finish the school year and return to Poland in June. 1 month to go

We travel Business Class ...ready for our first trip together.

An 11+ hour flight with a short stop in Germany.

We are in Poland! We spend days shopping, learning

asking questions, eating and looking for a home.

My first Polish friend...and relocator Kasia! She was so good to Mark and I. Here she is with us at the grocery store...we are learning to recognize names, products and buying a few things ....I even found some Polish M&M's!Mark is holding up a carton of milk...we will
